CLYDE at the Jamie Stevenson Trophy 2009 (Pitmedden, 21st June)

Well done to the members of a smaller than usual CLYDE team who achieved a creditable seventh place at this year's Jamie Stevenson Trophy held at Pitmedden Forest near Perth behind winners MAROC, FVO and INVOC.
CLYDE at SOL 3 (Teviothead, 7th June 2009)

A win for Donald Petrie on Short Brown and third place for Hollie Orr on Blue were probably the club's highlights from day of fast and furious racing over the open fells at Teviothead.
CLYDE at the Scottish Championships 2009

CLYDE teams came an impressive first and third on the Handicap 6 class and an excellent second on the very competitive Junior 40- class at the 2009 Scottish relay orienteering championships. There were no CLYDE winners at the individual championships this year, but we did have TEN top three finishers, namely second places for Thomas Wilson (M12A), Robert Patterson (M14A), Jessica Orr (W18L) and Liz Orr (W45S), and third places for Alastair Dunlop (M35S), Dave Robertson (M45L, first Scot), Donald Petrie (M50L), Emma Wilson (W10A), Hollie Orr (W21E, running for EUOC) and Christine Patterson (W50L).

Final CLYDE Teams for the Scottish Relays (24th May)

Click "more" for the final CLYDE teams (and declared running orders) entered for the Scottish Relays to be held at Strathmashie on 24th May. The Women's Open Team will be trying to regain the title they last won in 2007, and there should be good competition between the three Handicap 6+ teams and the two Junior 40- teams!
CLYDE Women Recce the Whangie (1st April)

It certainly wasn’t an April Fool’s - a group of eight (five female members of Clyde and three friends) gathered at Queen’s View on Wednesday evening to make the most of the extra daylight and to enjoy the sunshine and views from the Whangie. The route out was rocky and muddy and not too pleasant but was made up for in full by the views out over Loch Lomond. From the Whangie it was a lovely run downhill followed by a climb back up to the trig point with Jessica leading the way. Judging from the smiles in the car park it was well worth the effort (see photograph).
CLYDE at ECKO 3-in-2 Weekend

CLYDE at JK 2009

A large number of CLYDEsiders took part in the annual JK Festival of Orienteering, held this year in the North East. The top results were Christine Patterson's victory in W50L, Emma Wilson's victory in the W10 sprint race and Hollie Orr's victory in the W20E sprint race. There were also podium places for Donald Petrie (2nd in M50L), Jessica Orr (2nd in W18 middle distance), Emma Wilson (3rd in W10A), Jessica Orr (3rd in W18E long distance) and Steve Wilson (3rd in M40S). In the relays the top performance was by the M/W40- team of Thomas Wilson, Emma Wilson and Robert Patterson who took the bronze medals for third in their class.
CLYDE at SOL 1 (Auchingarrich, 5th April)

There was an excellent CLYDE turnout for the first Scottish Orienteering League (SOL) of 2009. The courses were long and tough (leading to many "dnf"s) and the new "ageless" course structure makes it slightly hard to see who did well, but there were top 10 performances from Donald Petrie (2nd on Short Brown), Lisa Petrie (7th on Short Green), Robert Patterson (4th on Light Green) and Alice Wilson (2nd on White).
